My father had quite a sense of humor for a staid insurance underwriter. He made up words, as I am wont to do. Woofer dust was his polite term for bullshit that was meant to obscure the root cause of conflict under discussion.
This whole phantasmagorical miasma of fear. . . of hordes of undocumented illegals posing a threat to the USA is a false construct of stone cold bigots inflaming the hordes of rednecks internally threatening the Rule of Law upon which the United States and other nations were founded. It’s all woofer dust!
And that’s where I stand, and I haven’t seen anything yet that would cause me to think otherwise.
It is interesting that many who supported The January 6 Insurrection suddenly become strident advocates of the Rule of Law as it pertains to illegal entry into the United States. It’s woofer dust. They are no different than the rest of their warped ilk, who are as I have mentioned “stone cold bigots”, so frightfully insecure they have to arm themselves to the teeth, corrupt the Gospel, and splashing hate and white supremacy like a chronic case of diarrhea all over the country, family and children.
If these deplorables are so self-convinced of their fear of undocumented immigrants, and so self-righteous and rigid about maintaining without reservation the Rule of Law as pertains to border violations . . .then don’t bitch about the inconvenience to their businesses and the overall economy when they don’t have the workers.
Put up with the short term inconveniences of belly-up businesses, lost jobs and lost wages for the long term gain of an impenatrable southern border. These deplorables aren’t very comfortable with deferred gratification.
Even as this is being written, farmers’ eyes are welling up with tears at the loss of these migrant workers. Now they are edging to get them back. Maybe they ought to have thought about the long term ramifications of bigotry before they voted. No sympathy or empathy here for them, but for the hundreds of thousands; eventually millions of innocent victims of their consummately stupid choices.
A simple answer might be for the Federal Government to come together with procedure for a quick and stable path to citizenship. There certainly are plenty of immigrants in the system already waiting for hearings before the Immigration Courts. That is not going to happen with the current egomanical felonious Orange Peril.
The backlog in immigration court was 3.6 million cases at EOY 2024. The DOJ is responsible for immigration proceedings, but understaffing, rapacious funding cuts, and tightening criteria for asylum, do little to alleviate the backlog, muchless provide for those detained at the border. And if you think that 10-15 million promised deportations is attainable . . . you are bat-crap nuts.
It’s all woofer dust stoked by irrational fear, irrational logic driven by bigotry.
